Statistics and analysis: Design questionnaires for public education activities and statistically analyze them. The information on readers' needs and responses is then used as a reference by the Library when organizing future events.
-
Inspection & Assistance: Organize library operations seminar and employee in-service training once to twice a year.
-
Public Awareness:
- Public library education: Provide guided tours led by trained Library staff to introduce school children to the library.
- Children's stories event: Cultivate elementary school students' literary ability as well as their ability to organize and express their thoughts
- Book exchange: Hosted at different times each year to encourage recycling and reading among the general public.
- Organize book clubs, seminars and exhibitions: e.g. "Dragonfly Children's Book Club" and "Library Tour" for children; or "Sense Book Club" for general adults. Book club leader workshops are also held throughout the year to assist schools, organizations and groups with setting up their own book clubs. The Library also actively organizes and participates in book club exhibitions to provide book clubs with networking opportunities.
- "Books Sense Quarterly" published every quarter: Enable members of the Library's Sense Book Club to exchange their insights.
- Publishing of library information and user pamphlets: Provide a detailed guide to help the general public take advantage of the Library's resources.
The Library recruits volunteers for libraries and events with an emphasis on expertise and enthusiasm to help with promoting Library activities. The training and assignment of volunteers is managed by the public awareness section of the main library. Library volunteers assist branches with loans, returns, shelving and paperwork; event volunteers lead book clubs and story times at branch libraries.
