Tzeng Jyh-Lang was awarded “Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award, California Science and Engineering
Society1993”, “Distinguished Service Award, The Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society of The Republic of
China, 2003 ”, “Distinguished Alumnus Award, The Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A, 2011”, “1st Class
Professional Education-Culture Medal, The Ministry of Education, March 2012.”
Tzeng Jyh-Lang was Fellow Academician of Academia Sinica, 1994 life tenure, and Fellow of American
Psychological Society 2003. He’s also committee member of the ICSU Committee on Freedom and
Responsibility in the conduct of Science (CFRS) from 2009 to 2011. In May 20, 2000 as Education Minister
in the cabinet of Tang Fei, he endeavored to popularize reading activities and got a tremendous echo from
society and education sector. The Ministry of Education has also set up series of reading education policy,
which laid the foundation for future reading education.
